DISUR's General Goals for Socioeconomic Development in South Puerto Rico

  • Integrate efforts and resources of the private, public and academic sectors in strategic community alliances to maximize and promote competitiveness and sustainable socioeconomic development of the Southern Region of Puerto Rico.
  • Develop a regional plan of an endogenous character that capitalizes on existing and future regional assets.
  • Developing human and social capital of the region, highlighting those skills that impact competitiveness, entrepreneurship and self-involvement.
  • Attract new investments that contribute to the creation and retention of jobs and to complement or add value to regional socioeconomic activity.
  • Categorically improve the quality of life for residents of the Southern Region
